WSIB and the Construction Company owner
If you own your own renovation business, or are otherwise sub-contracted in the construction industry, there are things you need to consider in your quest to be looked upon as an independent operator.
Being an independent operator means that you can opt out of WSIB programs, and buy personal disability as a solution to all reasons you may not be able to work.
If you got in a car accident, or developed an illness not work related, WSIB cannot help you. But a good personal disability plan can be there to ensure income is always coming in to your family.
