Now, having said this, what options do you have? For one, it is wise to ensure you get disability insurance, preferably a plan that will pay on and off the job, for workplace accident and illness, and also non-workplace accident and illness.

According to the Toronto Star, on top of all the issues the WSIB has with high rates and inferior coverage to personal disability, the rehabilitation program fails as wel (pdf).

This is where we come in. I cannot stress enough that you need to ensure you look after this issue. Why wait until a prospective client asks you to provide proof? Get ahead of the curve, and do this for yourself and your family, not because it is mandatory, although that is often what drives us, isn’t it?
